Therapeutic Listening is a sound-based therapy tool designed to assist in sensory integration. The program can improve sensory modulation, posture and movement, attention, behavioral regulation and engagement in the world. The musical selections include a variety of styles such as familiar child ballads, jazz, classical, and nature sounds. The music selections are specifically modified through filtering and varying the level of sound complexity thereby eliciting an orienting response.
Therapeutic Listening is primarily a home-based program but must be implemented under the guidance of a trained practitioner. Therapists at Integration Station are trained to identify the individual needs of each child and guide a listening regimen that supports the child’s development and refinement of skills.
