Enhancing Letter Recognition & Formation of Uppercase Letters
Appropriate for Most Children Ages 4-6 years
This handwriting camp places emphasis on letter recognition through sensory-motor activities in a small group setting, led by occupational therapists. Children are motivated to learn through singing, movement, and tactile exploration. Children participate in activities to improve memory, starting position, orientation, and formation.
The camp’s progression is designed to introduce simple letters before moving onto more complex letter formation. Each session targets specific letters in the learning sequence. In addition to learning basic formation of uppercase letters, activities to strengthen your child’s fine and visual motor skills will be an integral component of the camp.
Following each session, specific activities are recommended for practice at home. Repetition supports letter retention and further development of motor skills.
