Kayla worked in New York as an OT in both the inpatient and outpatient settings prior to relocating to Charlotte, NC. Prior to becoming an OT, Kayla’s experience as a teacher in a daycare center further developed her love of working with children and their families.
Kayla is experienced in working with individuals from Birth through Adulthood, and now focuses her career on working with children and their families. She often works with children experiencing developmental, neurological, and genetic disorders. She has a well-rounded perspective of a child’s needs in the home, community, and school settings.
Kayla is passionate about helping children reach their fullest potential. Through collaboration, she encourages a sense of confidence that the child and their family can overcome any obstacle that comes their way. Her goal is to provide the best, evidence-based intervention techniques, while working with the family in a cohesive way that is fun and builds on the child’s strengths.
Kayla loves working at IS because she is surrounded by colleagues with diverse expertise. She says, “The IS family helps me grow personally and professionally as a clinician. I learn something new everyday, and I am always challenged to do great things…be better today than I was yesterday…and learn more for tomorrow.”
In her spare time, Kayla enjoys spending time with her husband, pup, and swing dancing!
